Google, Facebook, Insta, Word of Mouth, Longevity in your profession and sometimes just a lasting impression?
I often wonder how people find me, how do I reach them and how on earth do you keep up with small business marketing.? Vintage weddings are niche so the reach is even more narrow but, still I get the most beautiful couples find me and give the Lindy Charm School the privilege of being their MUAH Stylist for the biggest day of their lives. It’s a huge ask and a real honour..
When Lauren reached out I asked her how she found me and she replied, her Bestie (Maid of Honour also) had done a Vintage Styling Workshop with me many many years ago and remembered me (apparently I made a lasting impression on her) so when her bestie asked for recommendations, my name was on her lips! Thanks Rachael!
Enter Lauren and Shane… The dialogue opens with Lauren and instantly we hit it off. I was in love with their whimsical, full of love, slightly left of field stylings and how deliciously relaxed and happy they both were. I knew this was going to be a fun day. With my trusty sidekick “Miss Mon” with me we set off to Tamborine. Covid had created some set backs for them also and the accommodation house was being difficult and a few things went wrong but Lauren and Shane were relaxed, carefree and went with a Que Sera Sera attitude which was the best!
I asked Lauren and Shane to answer a few questions for me, here’s what they said:
How did you and Shane meet?
📌Shane and I met on Tinder 😂 Shane had “super liked” me. I was only on there for a bit of a giggle
Who proposed to who and how?
📌Shane proposed to me in 2018 onboard the Ovation of the seas when we were on a repositioning ship from Singapore to Sydney (Royal Caribbean ship- at my favourite restaurant Jamie’s Italian). She wanted to do it in Singapore at the Gardens by the Bay but it didn’t happen.. I then gave Shane an engagement ring in 2019 on our anniversary at Benowa Gardens Botanical gardens whilst having a picnic
What was the inspiration for your wedding?
📌We just used what we loved as inspo. Pinterest was a huge help! We included what we loved and included everyone that loved us. We tried to make it as interactive and as full of love as we could by having fun games, talking will all our guests on a personal level. As long as people were happy and having a good time- we were happy.
What was your favourite moment?
📌Our favourite moment was entering the church and having all eyes on us. We were so excited to see our loved ones and have their company whilst we made our commitment to each other. The vows were a close second. I had a few sneaky tears
Any advice for planning a Vintage inspired wedding for others?
📌Our vintage advice would be to hit to op shops! Look at buying used or second hand and giving old things new love. Accept all help and hand-me-downs when offered. We also tried to shop and hire locally. Our flowers and our photographer were small business owners. And of course hire Chrissy and her team 😂
How did you find and engage The Lindy Charm School for your MUAH?
📌We found the The Lindy Charm School from a recommendation. My beautiful bridesmaid did a workshop a few years back and insisted. Chrissy and I were in contact via email but once the time came near we interacted via Instagram and text. So glad we did- Chrissy was kind, funny, whimsical and talented! There were so many compliments and we felt a million bucks!!
Lots of love xx
Lauren
Thanks Lauren and Shane for trusting us. YOU both have certainly made a Lasting Impression on me! xx
