“I went to the Fashions through time presentation and it was fabulous! Chrissy was warm, funny and informative and it was a real treat to see the clothes and have them explained.” – Christina Moore-Vockler

Encompassing a snapshot in time or a trip down memory lane, Head Mistress Chrissy from The Lindy Charm School boasts exceptional experience in giving presentations covering the1920s to 1970s eras with ease and confidence – met with a fair smattering of humour. Some of The Lindy Charm School presentations offered include the following.

A Day In The Life

This presentations provide insight into the life of a 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s woman. Through the exploration of historical facts, learned knowledge as passed on from our foremothers and women of time, this well-rounded presentation can be tailored to any era of interest or extend to cover multiple time periods.

Fashion On The Ration

Be whisked away on a journey, exploring time periods that have hugely impacted
Fashion. This is a well-suited package for those wishing to gain further knowledge about historical influence and explore significant milestones in fashion. When husbands went away to war, women began working in factories, workshops and labour employment. During this time, not only was there a shortage of funds, but also of fabric! See how women during these periods experimented with fashion, styling and living on a budget, while still looking fabulous.

Modern day fashion shows stem from a rich historical love affair with vintage fashion. While runways now swarm with high-end collections designed by the likes of Gucci and Chanel -today’s catwalk soirees are a direct product of a series of historical evolutions in the world of appearances.

With all gratitude graciously given to our foremothers who founded this interactive approach to garment display in the fashion realm, modern day reincarnations of vintage catwalk exhibits are a rarity.

Among these times, trend based creations reigned supreme. Providing audiences with time relative pieces to swoon over. Unfortunately today, we are not made privy to these influential capsules within the fashion world – sure to have old-time designers rolling in their graves! Until now. Here is a glimpse at what The Lindy Charm School has to offer.

Salon Parade

Initially a marketing tool for fashion designers and creators alike, runways first became apparent alongside racetracks in the 1800s and 1900s. The wealthy employed in house models (also known as mannequins) to wear their garments and display these pieces to a wide audience of photographers, socialites and media alike.

It was not uncommon towards the early 1900s to spot three hour-long fashion parades being held and presented to elite clientele in celebration of new garments and pieces on the market. The Lindy Charm School specialises in reviving these pioneering salon parades with interactive fashion shows – perfect for any high tea or corporate event. Models step away from the catwalk, meander through the crowd and get up close and personal with the guests – allowing closer inspection of these historical fashion pieces.

Want The Lindy Charm School to curate and present one of the above fashion parades for you, or maybe you require a specifically themed and event for you, please email Miss Chrissy for a quote:  [email protected] or Call 0409727888
