I first met Maryanne at a photoshoot day that Brooke and I were putting on in Melbourne. I had the pleasure os styling Maryanne (Mezza-Rose) on 3 occasions at various Vintage photoshoots. Mezzo said at one of those shoots, “when Lachlan and I marry I want you as my stylist!.. 3 Years later, I get a call out of the blue from her asking if I would fly to Melbourne and be her MUAH for her big day! How could I say no to that beautiful face, that cheeky smile and that heart full of love for her betrothed!
Before I get to the fairytale wedding, let me share a couple of my favourite makeovers I’ve done on this little ballerina!
Now for that fairytale wedding.. Lachlion and MonkeyAnne (Their nickname for each other) are soulmates and have been in love since they were babes, well yes I know, they are still only babes but their love is mature, deep, unconditional and giddy… They are two kids that love to play, their family is first and only in their belief system of what is important in life.
Mezza Rose wanted the most perfect fairytale wedding and picked Overnewton Castle as her backdrop for photos. Brooke and I had done photoshoots there in the past and in fact we snapped Maryanne and Lachlan at the castle years before so I’m guessing their location for photos was decided then. They put every effort into every detail and so much love and thought was injected to the finer details, the gifts for the maids and men, the accessories, the traditional going away dress, right down tot he food to keep the MUAH’s happy while they worked! Nothing was left to chance and Maryanne mad wit all perfect.. and it was!
I really give consideration to the decision when taking on a wedding as I need to feel a connection to the bride.. In the 1st couple of interactions I know if we are a perfect fit.. Its a big deal to pick your stylist and as a stylist who is passionate about the experience more so than the money, its a big deal for me too that I connect. We connected! I was so humbled, happy and proud of this wedding and my small part in it. Such a beautiful and kind hearted couple, it just makes you all gooey inside!
