Hi there, we have two events coming up for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month (February). For the Free Pamper Day on Friday 24th of February, we are looking to reach women in our Gold Coast Community they may benefit & enjoy such a day. If you know of anyone or could share amongst your community to reach these women, that would be much appreciated. FB Event link is here: https://facebook.com/events/1164885856949568/
A Free workshop for all cancer warrior women on their journey that might need a little TLC for their hair, face and skin. This is a nourishing day but also a day where we can share some of our tips and tricks such as fabulous Turban Tying, Making your own natural moisturises and some Old Hollywood Glamour Makeup tips to try.
“Beauties Feeling Fabulous” was the brainchild (and wish) of my sister Elisha Neave but sadly she did not get to see it come to life. Now 2 years after her passing I have been honoured with the task of raising awareness as one of the Community Ambassador for Ovarian Cancer Australia. With the Support of our local Council and friends in the industry we will bring all the fabulous pampering to the table and spoil you all, so come along and enjoy this day, I know first hand what a day like this can do to make a moment in time just that little bit fabulous!. Most of you know our family history with Ovarian Cancer through the passing of my Little Sister Elisha Neave so this cause is very close to my heart. I have been given the honour of being a Community Ambassador for Ovarian Cancer Australia for 2017 so I will be organising some events throughout Qld & Nthn NSW throughout the year starting in February 9th at The Bowlo, Bangalow… My main focus will be to raise awareness of the signs of this silent killer.
You might remember a segment in the 60 minutes report when Elisha said that it wasn’t until she was going to theatre for her major cancer de-bulking surgery that she first saw the signs of ovarian cancer listed in the elevator. For 6 weeks prior she was reporting the same symptoms but it wasn’t picked up on and she did not know them to push further.
Can you name off the top of your head the 4 major Signs/Symptoms right now without googling it? I would love these signs to be as commonly known by everyone especially reaching our young ladies coming of age… They are:
* Abdominal or pelvic pain.
* Increased abdominal size or persistent abdominal bloating.
* Needing to urinate often or urgently.
* Feeling full after eating a small amount.
Til then,
