Thank you so much!
I’ve been looking for a bright pink blush for an more authentic vintage look, for so long!
And when you curled my hair for the Melbourne Cup Day show, the curls stayed intact the following day – gotta have your magical setting lotion, I bought the same hot sticks as you use, on eBay – yay!!
Hope you’re keeping well and taking time out for yourself – it’s great to see your fantastic business making so many woman happy:))
I had attended the Lindy Charm School’s Workshop at the second Love Vintage Show in Sydney for 2011. In a nutshell, I was amazed by the Workshop – there were so many things that I had learnt about doing vintage hair and makeup – Mistress Chrissy and all the ladies were so helpful, attentive and not to mention, simply beautiful themselves. I also had the lucky chance of getting my hair done by Mistress Sammy…….and her hair-do technique is now something I follow daily……I have nothing but positive things to say about the workshop and recommend it to anyone interested in vintage hair and makeup.
Thank you so much

Dear Mistress Chrissy,
I had a blast on Sunday, hair, make up and vintage clothing techniques have inspired me to live each day holding true to the Lindy Charm School Oath….thou shalt endeavour to always wear red lipstick.
So many compliments where expressed & I have sent your contact details to many of my friends, whom are now keen to learn the secrets of being a LCS Debutante 🙂
I will be in contact in the future! so that I can endeavour to be the true lady that I am.
Thank you for a wonderful workshop today in Brisbane – this afternoon I had to write your details down for a number of girls who asked me about my bangs! Thank you so much xxxx
My first Lindy Charm School class was held in Smith Street, Melbourne 2008 – a few months after I had started taking burlesque classes. I was already hooked on vintage beauty but I couldn’t recreate those fabulous hair styles from the era and didn’t have any real grasp of make up application for the time.
I remember entering the room full of eager women and seeing the two Charm School Mistresses amazingly clad in vintage frocks and looking like they had just stepped out of a 1950s Vogue magazine.
That day I learnt the art of pin curling. Years later, using the techniques to achieve perfect curls and make up has aided my burlesque and pin up career. I have extensive knowledge and background on how the old burlesque startlets achieved their look and I can now infuse that into my own on stage presence.
When I compete in Miss Burlesque Victoria 2012, I will be taking my LCS skills with me to achieve the perfect burlesque looks on stage.
However, the influence hasn’t stopped there. I’m often asked for styling and technique advice on how to achieve the beautiful hair and make up looks of the 20s-50s by strangers in the street!
I use my vintage knowledge everywhere I go. I love the confidence and compliments I have received from friends and strangers. From my 9-5 office environment, to weekend activities, to the stage I am always honoring my LSC vows from my first class so long ago… Thou shalt endeavour to always wear red lipstick!
