The Craft and Quilt Fairs have asked me to come on board and present at all of their 9 shows around Australia and New Zealand starting in Perth in May. I will be looking for models in each state on each day to help out and this is the general information I am sending out. Some times may change by 30 mins for different shows but mostly this will be the schedule.
Calling for models between the sizes 8-12/14. You don’t have to be professional, You don’t need to be available everyday.. All I can offer is fun, experience, free tickets for your family/friends (a few each), out of pocket expenses, lunch and photos at the event for you….. You will be needed for fitting and MUAH (If needed) at around 9am to 1pm each day at each for the venues listed on the website: Tell your girlfriends and family and email me if you are free to help: [email protected]. When you email with your interest can you please advise your dress size and also maybe send a pic so I can put a face to the name. Here is my program for stage and workshops BUT I would only need you from say 9am to 12.00 ie: the first two presentations. (They are yet to 100% confirm times but have said OK so far).
10am to 10.30am – Glamour Retained… Dress like a model on Pennies a Day!
– Miss Chrissy goes into the basic secret of being a well dressed woman enhancing what you have and embellishing where necessary. Dressing up doesn’t mean looking extreme, fussy or fancy, sometimes it just a matter of nipping and tucking in the right places and adding your stamp, your mark or your personality to complete the outfit. Don’t use all your craft skills on other things, save a bit to use on you! (Demonstrations on models and mannequins using modern day clothing and giving it a timeless, classic and glamorous makeover – 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’s looks) This is where we can have the large A1 B&W pics on the easel and I use modern wardrobe to achieve the similar look.
11.30am – 12 Noon – Making Do and Mending
– Lets grab those throw out vintage pieces that cost nickels and dimes due to their deterioration or damage and trick them up using your craft and embellishing skills, lets re-use, re-fashion and re-invent those wearable memories. Miss Chrissy will show you that “A Little touch of Seasoning Makes the Dish Just Right” and take you from day to night with a couple of clever changes using the tricks of our foremothers and you will be ready to step right out to that dinner date, dance or cocktail party …
LUNCH
1.30 to 2.00pm – Shape Shifters – Shapes through the Decades and the Importance of Undergarments – Miss Chrissy will not only show you how to lose 3-4 inches in minutes, find your curves, and put the wiggle back into your walk, she will also explain the importance of underpinnings and how they relate to posture and our ultimate confidence. – Its up close and personal, be prepared also to be bedazzled as she shows you quick and easy ways to create that perfect Vintage “Do” in minutes with not much more that a comb and some sturdy grips.
3.00 – 4.30pm – Masterclass with the Mistress of Vintage Style: (Wed & Thursday only)
