So what exactly is the Gangsters’ Ball?
Well for starters it is not a sit-down theatre show. It is a faithful recreation of a 1930’s style Speakeasy Club, so you can walk around the entire venue, dance, gamble, get your hair & makeup done at the styling parlour, have your portrait taken at the photo booth, grab a cocktail or two and mingle with your friends. We encourage attendees to partake in every aspect of the show and experience all the fun and mayhem of 1930’s & 40’s entertainment and culture.
Each year nearly than 4,000 Mobsters, Molls and Flappers step back in time to a bygone era. An era when men wore three-piece suits, fedora hats and silk ties, women wore feathers, furs and pill box hats, big bands ruled the airwaves and gangsters ruled the streets.
The Gangsters’ Ball is 5hrs of interactive and non-stop entertainment where the audience is as much a part of the show as the performers. Featuring the biggest names in Cabaret, Sideshow Vaudeville, Burlesque, Magic, Illusion and Big Band Swing, it is an event like no other and one not to be missed.
Every show also features one of Australia’s best Swing Bands, Swing/Rock ‘n’ Roll DJ’s, The Gambling Den – with Poker, Roulette and Black Jack tables, Swing and Rock ‘n’ Roll dancing contests, Pin-up models, merchandise stalls, cocktail bar, vintage styling parlour, photo booth and fantastic prizes for the best dancers and lucky door!
