Research says that we, as humans, benefit from hugs, lots of them and regularly.. Standard dose for optimum benefit on a daily basis would be 4 apparently! BUT, what if you don’t know the person well enough to break personal boundary and dive on in for that double armed hold?, maybe it is a business acquaintance or potential new business partner or someone you know in your scene/community but have not developed that personal relationship as yet (outside of social media :)) How do you Hug them to show your warmth, your genuiness and disarm them with your openness? Enter the VERBAL HUG… Yep.. there is such a thing…
The Verbal Hug is essentially giving a compliment to another person but this compliment (as with all compliments) needs to be genuine, honest, confident in its delivery (This can’t happen if it is a false compliment) and, this compliment needs to delivered from heart as well as mind i.e.: you can’t just think it, you have to feel it too!.
Also, a Verbal Hug (Unlike a Virtual Hug) needs to be delivered face to face, after all, half of the genuine is delivered in the shine in your eyes and the warmth of your smile and you can’t deliver that without being there.
Who’s up for a physical hug or a verbal hug from me? I’ll be giving these out through 2017 so I hope to see you all in person to deliver one or the other or both at once! xx
Til then,
Stylishly Yours,
What a beautiful sentiment! I am a firm believer in giving hugs and genuine compliments. It’s not hard to do, and it does so much to lift the recipient’s mood. So lovely to see someone walk away with a smile on their face. Quite often they will then pay it forward too. Win/win situation! Love Sharon xxxxxx
Aww shucks, will happily do this and either for the mutual benefit Chrissy in 2017………….nothing uncomfortable about it for me!
