Welcome to these limited edition “One Off”, Individual Turbans I have made in Honor of Mum “Claudette” who passed away recently. The night before she died, late at night when we could not sleep, she was up and helping me learn different and interesting ways of using turbans as they have done since the 1920’s… Mum was my creative partner, my inspiration and my model that night. When going through all her materials and craft things after, I could not bring myself to throw it away so I put it out to my social media friends asking for a suitable name for a limited edition Turban Range and “Claudettes Urban Turbans” was born. I started to wear turbans more often last year when going through Cancer Treatment to add some flare and style to my outfits that my hair could no longer do. Each of these Turbans are Unique, Each is put together with love and with some creative critiquing from a few friends, namely Madeleine Mayhem from Dead End Dames, Angie Varnam from Arkive Vintage and our mutual friend – Pinot Grigio! All Turbans are used with Mum’s left over Fabrics. All have a handmade flower or decoration of hers that she started to make for her 1940’s inspired hats and some have lovely fruit flower arrangements put together for me by Katrina Hill from Kats Cadillac Vintage.
