Happy New Year Lovelies….. 2016 was a year of many changes for me personally and for The Lindy Charm School. From what I hear and read, 2016 was quite trying for some and I feel their pain, but for me it was a year of healing and walking in the direction of new beginnings. Working through my grief and own cancer journey and subsequent on-flow affects from that to arrive at the end of 2016 at a better place in my heart, mind and soul. Selling our family home and moving from the mountains to the sea from acreage to apartment living has been a bag of mixed emotions but ultimately a real healing move.
The Charm School saw growth and new branches being explored which have been so rewarding… Working alongside my Sister Veronica more this year has been one of my greatest pleasures. Branching out at offering workshops to Young Ladies (Originally My Mums Idea) has been so amazing, very popular and a heaps of fun.. There is this great feeling inside from being able to pass the baton to the next generation of young girls.. Love it… Hopefully we will be able to offer these workshops to schools and online in the future.. Baby Steps…
My Mantra at the beginning of 2016 was to say YES to anything and everything and I asked the universe to send me some pretty cool options and she did! I said Yes and 2016 was really exciting work wise for me, The Lindy Charm School and for Swing On In.. So many different and wonderful experiences came our way.. So good in fact I am doing the same for 2017! SO… Here’s to a BIG YES for 2017!
Working everyday with my the Love of My Life “Ray” brings me such joy.. we are definitely a perfect team! Building our Dance School and Swing Scene SWING ON IN and helping me behind the scenes with The Lindy Charm School, we are where we are meant to be right now in our lives and that feels good! Letting go of wanting to be millionaires and have it all, leaving high paid corporate jobs behind was really daunting but once we made the decision and changed what we THOUGHT we needed in life, the stress of money (or needing so much of it) was gone. This mindset obviously changed with the passing of my Sister Elisha, Dad and Most recently Mum, of course, times like that will always make you evaluate life and your mortality in it, and then you start to think about what is important, what you need and how you can make a difference.. It’s a journey that everyone will go through in their life at some point but to be able to do it with your life parter by your side and on the same page as you, well that’s just a gift!
