The bringing together two hearts to be one: Kyla and Kaine:
When Kyla asked me to be her Hair and Makeup Stylist, its fair to say I had a bit going on in my life. Having Cancer myself, just watching Mum pass away and still grieving over Elisha and Dad, its fair to say, my days were cloudy. Kyla was one of the most genuine, kind hearted, considerate, understanding and patient girls I have met. She knew what I was going through and never pushed, she trusted that I would get through it and make it to her big day. God knows she could have picked any stylist (There are so many good ones out there) but she didn’t, she picked me and I’m so grateful as it was truly a beautiful day. Kyla and her Maids/besties are no strangers to the amazing Woolloongabba Antique Centre which is where they had previously seen me work which is awesome.. Thanks WAC.. To top it off, I received a very special gift from Kyla as a thank you and just goes to show her warmth and thought for all. Thanks Kyla, I cherish my Erstwilder Lipstick Brooch I have to note that I could not have made it through this day without the help of a really great friend and able assistant Paige Adele Langley, who started out as my awesome nail tech 15 years ago, over many tears of laughter and pain and many bottles of fine wine we have become great mates and when I said I needed help with MUA, she was hands up and rearing to go. What a fun day before, during and after!
A Retro & Old Hollywood Glamour Vibe …. I loved how each maid had her aura colour and this wedding was a touch of class wrapped up in candy coloured fun…
Kyla brought together those whose she loved and cherished most for her day’s preparation and you could just feel the love int he room amongst her galpals.. Music. Laughter, Eats and Drinks in a beautiful setting in Brisbane made for the best preparation day. For an MUAH it was a dream as we had great lighting and plenty of power and room to work. Hands up girls who think that getting ready for a big night out is the best part? Well yes that’s true BUT this special wedding between two lovers continued on well after the preparation and they are still having the best time!
When I am styling my bride, a lot of prep goes into the outcome prior to the day so as that on the day it is all chilled, and easy going with a known outcome and no stress. My “Go to” “Must Have” in my kit (amongst other things) is the Lindy Charm School Essential Setting Lotion and Our Essential Grooming Cream. Our foremothers always gave their hair a final grooming with some flyaway cream or grooming cream just to add shine and a clean/polished look to their Do! Of course I have a selection of hairsprays such and Cedel whilst I’m working/styling/placing the hair and then bringing in the big guns with lacquer to spot finish the Do!
Another “Must Have” are GOOD GRIPS.. So many times a hairstyle can unravel just as the bride is walking down the aisle if cheap grips have been used. The Bobby Pin And U Shape Pin are a stylist best friend. Get yours here today,
Still one of my most cherished weddings ever. Thanks Kyla for choosing me.
